This Is Not a Government Office. We run a private reference site. We cannot pull criminal records, run official background checks, remove or correct a record, or accept expungement filings for anyone. For any of those, you need to reach the right government office directly.
Need an Official Record?
Use the following Adams County and Illinois contacts according to record type:
- Court cases and certified dispositions: use the court case lookup or contact the Adams County Circuit Clerk, 521 Vermont Street, Quincy, 217-277-2100.
- Police and incident reports: for Quincy Police, contact Central Records at 530 Broadway, Quincy, 217-228-4470, or FOIA-QPD@quincyil.gov; otherwise ask the Sheriff or village agency that created the report.
- Arrest, jail, and booking questions: call the Adams County Sheriff at 217-277-2200 or inmate information at 217-277-2202.
- Illinois conviction searches or personal transcripts: use the Illinois State Police Bureau of Identification through CHIRP or the fingerprint-based Access and Review process.
- Expungement and sealing: file the statewide forms through the Adams County Circuit Clerk.
- Registry information: use the Illinois State Police Sex Offender Registry and contact the registering agency about accuracy.
For sheriff-created records, contact the Adams County Sheriff's Office, 535 Vermont Street, Quincy, IL 62301, 217-277-2200. The official site does not publish separate criminal-records counter hours, so call before visiting. Court records remain with the Circuit Clerk rather than the Sheriff.
